Nude Woman Deconstructed by Jane Arrieta Ebarle

Sandro Botticelli’s “Birth of Venus” is one of the living masterpieces which propelled nudity in the renaissance period not only as a “symbol of divine art but the birth of the Female Nude”. His Venus was one of the glorious masterpieces which cut across space and time, spanning generations of artists. Looking through the fragile beauty in the canvas, that Venus was a woman of youth and innocence, yet, in the frailty of her smile, there was an obvious sign of confidence. One doesn’t need a background in the history of art to see and understand the beauty that was to be timeless and ethereal, characteristic of perfection but nevertheless conveying a message of assurance.
