The Road by Rimly Bezbaruah (somewhere down the road)

THE ROAD
Rimly Bezbaruah

We embarked fearlessly
On a road, you and I
A promise, love and hope
Our only guiding light,
An unfathomable chasm
Separated us yet we
Sought that crossroad
To our union,
Our togetherness…
My hand reached out
To you across the abyss
Of possibilities
But your hand lay by your side
Inert, holding back
Leaving me directionless
As you took our
Road with you
Who am I? I wondered
Doubts seized me
Was I a distraction?
Or the woman you
Truly loved?
Without a choice
I turned towards
The unknown,
A road of pain
Despair and fear
Its path strewn
With corpses of broken dreams
And unfulfilled desires
I heard their wails
Of souls tormented
Of hearts shattered
And I knew I was
Not alone

The palpable darkness
Spreading its tentacles
Longed to possess me
I scurried along the
Haunted trail
My wails in tune
With the others
An age long walk
Down the devastation
The lure was strong
To stay forever
Tempting…
But I walked,
Tripping and falling
I walked
Seeking the light…
The life that was mine…
Every faltering step forward
A shedding of old skin,
Helplessness, despair, agony
Slithered away
As darkness gave in
To the day,
The night pierced
By the first rays…

The echoing cries
Faded away
Happy chirping birds
Filled the air with
Their morning songs
In the distance
I saw him…
He who had come
In my dreams
The one that chased
My nightmares away
Hands outstretched…
I ran, reborn
The old dying for the new
As he took me
In his arms
I knew I was
Home at last.

Black and White

by Jim Brandano
No this is not Michael Jackson's song...which is by the way a very inspiring song. This blog will be presenting images that will also inspire our members in spite of its lack of colors.
I've chosen the following images on this blog for one main reason...or let us say two, being Black and White. The images here I believe would lessen its drama when we dab color in them.
B and W pictures always give to me that classic feel. I can't avoid not to think of my father, who as a camera man would crawl to his dim lit inner sanctum he called "dark room" and would not allow me and my sister to enter because of the said toxic fume. But maybe that depends on his mood because there were times I remember that he would let us in and allowed us to watch him perform magic.
Those rare instances inside the "dark room" were sort of a mystery to me. Maybe until now. Of course I knew by now that those chemicals create reactions on paper after being expose by light. But the mystery to me was how those images came to life. Yes it came to life. I'm not sure how I would be able to express this vagueness...colored picture don't gave me this kind of chills and thrills. In spite of modern technologies attempt to create images that rival the human eye, I still admire photographs done in Black and White.
Why? Maybe in B and W photos I can distinguished the shadows very easily. Actually, it was those shadows forming the images and eventually suggesting  some texture that made me the more baffled. Again maybe Black and white images triggers our brain to imagine more from the less.
It is to me I supposed more difficult to execute since you are given only two tone to work with. If its too dark, then necessary images will not be distinguished. If too white then we get very little of the subject.
Black and White photos in my opinion are the real photographs. It saves us from the malice of colors but Allowing our brain to imagine more...
Colored photographs gave me that sense of finality in terms of realism. While Black and white on the other hand are mere suggestions...Am I seeing the truth or not? Is it mud or cake? Those kind of questions that arises which colored images already revealed. I hope you are following me...
Anyway, I'll just let these photographs speaks where language fails.

Well, excellent art works and therefore worth sharing...I'll try to haunt them down, since our Facebook page run faster than my  laptop. I hope I can immortalized it here...that is, if blogger.com will exist farther into eternal life...
Here are some of them...I'm not going to express in words why I like these collections...I'll simply let these pictures speak for itself.

Niña Ceñir and her Arts

Niña Ceñir is from The Philippines

Pauline McCarthy

Hi folks, greetings from Iceland! Thank you for allowing me into your inner sanctum :) I have been a performing artist most of my life while travelling the world doing voluntary work. About 5 years ago I was ill and confined to bed for 6 months, to pass the time I started watching dvd's on learning how to oil paint. When I was better I picked up brush and started painting and discovered my inner artist :) I had been teaching flower arranging for many years so already had some sense of colour. The greatest gift learning to paint gave me was opening my eyes to the variety and subtetly of colour in our surroundings. Before I could see things but I did not observe them. A whole new world opened up to me :)

I have a wee bit of a hyperactivity condition and usually get so excited to pass the paintings onto the commissioner that I forget to take photographs of them. I guess I have painted about 45 but have only taken photo's of 16 of them, you can see them here: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.43412853224.42317.620553224

As you can see I am not much of a photographer :) Perhaps that is what I will learn next time I am ill in bed for a long time :)

For the last couple of years I have been developing an idea for the most amazing global art and photography project. It is a non profit project to help unite the world in peace and encourage environmental awareness. Problem is I am having trouble getting the web site finished. I know diddly squat about techie things :( Do any of you know of any grants I could apply for so that I can pay for a professional programmer? Or do any of you know how to work with wordpress?

Anyhoo! It is called 2012 Project 12 and you can see what is up so far of the web site at : 2012project12.com and you can read my blog 2012project12.wordpress.com or even pre-sign up at our facebook event page:http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=177802045595037

I am currently reading how to paint with water colours. I am very interested in working with mixed mediums. I mean very mixed mediums. When someone tells me "That does not go with that" I get so excited and think "Now how can I get those to work together!" :)

I look forward to getting to know you folks and being inspired by your art.
